Sherman 1903 2002 EAST LONGMEADOW Mary G. "Mae" (Cloonan) Sherman, 99, mer long time resident of Springfield, died Friday in a local nursing home. Born May 23,1903 in Springfield to Thomas and Mary. (Ryan) Cloonan. Mary was schooled in Springfield at Holy Family Grammar School and Cathedral High School.

Prior to her first marriage to Raymond Kennedy, she worked for the telephone company as a Toll Operator. Mary and Raymond had one daughter, Marjorie. Mae later studied to be a beautician and worked for several years at Neisner's Beauty Parlor formerly on Main eventually becoming manager of that shop. Mae gave up this position after her marriage to Frank Blair Sherman and the birth of another, Diane. She became a full time homemaker and Mother.

In later years she assisted her sister by working in her store, Elsie's Confectionary formerly on Liberty Spfld. Mae was predeceased by her husband Frank B. Sherman, who died in 1972. She leaves two daughters, Marjorie (Kennedy) Schubach of Wilbraham and Diane (Sherman) Villagomez of Tallahasse, FL and five granddaughters, Cynthia Schubach of Florence, MA, Lauren Barnes of Ellington, CT, Diane Bourbeau of Somers, CT, Melissa Tolmie of Marlboro, MA and Vanessa Holm of Pepperell, MA. He was born January 20, 1912 in Springfield, to Kirk and Jessie (Murphy) Washburn. He received his education at Oxford University in England, and lived in new York City before making Oregon his home. She retired in the late 70's from the former Buxton after 33 years of employment. She was a graduate of the former Central High School of Springfield; member of the Buxton 25 Year Club and a communicant of Mt.

Carmel Church, Springfield. She was the wife of the late, Pasquale E. Lapponese, who died in 1993. She leaves her loving children, two sons, Edward R. and Richard G.

Lapponese both of Enfield; and a daughter, Marie T. and her husband Ron Villeneuve of East Longmeadow; a brother, Valentino Scatolini of Wilbraham; and two sisters, Bianca Formica of Wilbraham and Eleanor Stewart of Springfield. She will be missed by her companion Nick Maratea of Springfield. She leaves eleven grandchildren, David and Lynn Lapponese, Donna Trippoddo, Karen Manzone, Tina Leblanc, Robert, Brian and Thomas Villeneuve and 1 Pasquale, Gina Marie and Anthony Lapponese; four step grandchildren, Donald and John Singleton and Jill and Andy Lieberwirth. Mayo 1930 2002 SPRINGFIELD, MA Robert Jerome Mayo, 72, of 323 South Branch Parkway, a retired 27 year Chief Master Sargeant with the United States Airforce, died Friday, June 14, 2002, at Mercy Medical Center. He was also a retired Communications Officer from Westover Air Reserve Base. Born in Jersey City, New Jersey, he had. been a resident of Springfield, for 28 years. He received his bachelor's degree in Business from the University of Maryland.

DiClementi 1927 -2002 AGAWAM Mauro M. DiClementi, entered into eternal rest at his home, on Saturday, June 15, 2002. Born in SpringfieldonOctober 16, 1927, he was the son of the late Felix and Sarafina (Leccece) DiClementi. A lifelong resident of Agawam, he was the Building Inspector for the Town of Agawam for seventeen years, retiring in 1990. He was a skilled carpenter, custom furniture maker and an avid outdoors man.

He was self employed at Colonial Architectural Woodworking in Agawam and was formerly a pattern maker at Orchard Patter in Springfield. He was a member Sergeant in the United States Army stationed in Italy from January 1946 July 1947. He was a member of the Western Massachusetts Building Officials and a communicant of St. John the Evangelist church. He is survived by his wife of fifty years, Norma T.

For a period of time he worked at Deerfield Academy and also at Don Lorenz as a Customer Service representative. He was an avid car enthusiast and enjoyed spending time on his computer. He was a member of the Greenfield YMCA and loved basketball, listening to his music and just hanging out with his friends and The Truck.

Besides his is parents he leaves his paternal grandparents, Raymond and Arlene (Dufraine) McMahon of Greenfield; his maternal grandparents, Edward and Rose Ann (Cournoyer) Jarmolowicz of Webster, MA; and his maternal great -grandmother, Ruth Cournoyer of Thompson, CT. She attended St. Thomas Grammar School for 9 yrs. and was a 2001 graduate of West Spfld High School where she was an honor student, co-captain of the Varsity Field Hockey Team which won the Western Mass. Championship, a member of the Varsity Lacrosse and Ski Teams, and she was also on the staff of the High School Year Book. She had just completed her Freshman Year at Syracuse University where she was enrolled in the Honors Program.

Kacy was the loving daughter of Thomas and Kathleen (Holbrook) Burdett. She leaves her grandparents, William and Barbara Holbrook of Lanconia, NH, and Dorothy Burdett of Peoria, IL; her cousins, Ben and Zack Bunker of Lanconia NH, Jake Holbrook of Vero Beach, FL, Kelsey Holbrook of E. Born in Indian Orchard, MA March 2, 1933, she ws the daughter of the late Bronislaw P. Stella G. (Steina) Weroniecki. A graduate of Springfield Technical High School, Pearl attended American International College, and was owner operator of the former Pearl's Flower Shop of Indian Orchard.

Funeral Home James De Vecchi 1918 2002 FEEDING HILLS James De Vecchi, 83, died Saturday at Heritage Hall Nursing Home in Agawam. He was born in Agawam, September 6, 1918 and was the son of the late, Carlo and Louisa (Savio) De Vecchi.

He was the owner and president of the J. O. Young Company in Agawam for many years. He was a US Army veteran during WWII and was discharged a Staff Sgt. He was a communicant of the Sacred Heart Church and was past president and founder of the Agawam interchurch baseball league.

He was a member of the Agawam Lions Club and the Agawam and Springfield Rotary Clubs. He leaves his wife of 60 years, Val E. (Beaudreau) De Vecchi; two sons, John R. De Vecchi of Feeding Hills and James M. De Vecchi of Rhode Island; one sister, Agnes De Vecchi of Greenfield; a brother, Primo, died in 1989; two grandchildren, J.

Matthew De Vecchi and Stephen De Vecchi. The funeral will be held Tuesday at 9 am from the Agawam Curran Jones Funeral Home with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 am from the Heart Church. Burial is in Springfield St. Cemetery. Calling hours are Monday 2-4 7-9.
