The Perfect Turkey Wrap Recipe!

If you’re looking for something really easy to make for light lunch or snack, I’ve got ya covered. My Easy Turkey Wrap Recipe is just 4 ingredients and a great low-carb option.

Many turkey wraps have high-calorie tortillas and wraps, but not this one. Thick-slice deli-turkey is how it stays low carb and delicious!

When a change was needed

Several years ago, I had found myself quite overweight and looking to make some changes in my life. I had just had a baby, and as many of you can relate, was looking to take off the baby weight that was not budging.

It was pretty obvious to me that I was not able to do it on my own – I need some help, and support. I needed a group of people that could identify and understand how I was feeling and who were also trying to make this change.

This was when I decided to join Weight Watchers. One of the many fantastic things I discovered about Weight Watchers are all of the healthy options, meals and snack ideas – one of which is this Easy Turkey Wrap Recipe!

They are only 1 Weight Watchers Freestyle Smart Point, and are perfect for a filling snack. I’ll often times make two, and pair with an apple or salad for a healthy lunch. I’ve been making and eating these snack wraps for well over a decade, and haven’t looked back once!

How to assemble the turkey wraps

These super-simple turkey wraps start with long slices of veggies. I enjoy the crispness and flavor of bell peppers and cucumbers, however, feel free to include carrots, celery or any other veggies you enjoy.

Typically, I’ll slice up two or three peppers at a time, along with a large English cucumber (you don’t have to peel!), and store in a big clear container.

You can then pull out this container for healthy snacking all week long. When you have ingredients prepped and really to go, it makes making healthy choices much easier!

Add cheese to the turkey

Your next step is adding a wedge of Laughing Cow cheese to a slice of deli turkey. There are many flavors of Laughing Cow – I personally enjoy the garlic and herb flavor – feel free to go with your favorite. These are only 30 calories (and 1 Smart Points) per wedge, and becomes the creamy filling of the turkey wrap.

I also use a slightly thicker cut of deli turkey for this turkey wrap recipe. If you use a thin or shaved deli turkey, it will be quite hard to spread the cheese without the turkey tearing.

I go with a simple, oven roasted deli turkey. I don’t particularly enjoy the flavor of “honey roasted” and sometimes smoked turkey can be too salty for me, so Oven-Roasted is usually what I chose.

The turkey slice is now a ZERO point food on the Freestyle program!

Add Veggies & Roll Up

Next, simply place a few veggie strips in the center of the turkey slice that has been spread with cheese and roll up like a tortilla. That’s it!

You’ll quickly discover that this simple snack wrap, takes maybe 2 minutes to make.

I love making and enjoying these during mid-afternoon when I get particularly “snacky.” The turkey has a nice amount of flavor, and the crunchy veggies make it rather substantial and filling.

These are also fantastic if you pack your lunch to take to work. Feel free to make a couple of these and slice into halves or quarters. Enjoy with apple slices, oranges or a yummy fruit salad – my Cucumber Melon Fruit Salad or my Tropical Pineapple Mango Salsa would be perfect!

Frequently Asked Questions about making turkey wraps:

  • What type of turkey should I use for these turkey wraps? Answer: I recommend getting a medium-thick sliced deli turkey. This thickness works the best when trying to spread the cheese. Shaved or leftover (Thanksgiving) turkey is hard to spread the cheese.
  • Can I use a tortilla for the outer wrap? Answer: Yes. However, keep in mind you will be adding more calories, carbs and if on WW, more points.
  • What can I eat with these turkey wraps? Answer: I’ve got several side ideas! Here are a few recipes that I enjoy!
