What Is Temu’s Return Policy?
To receive a refund on any eligible item, you must return it within 90 days of the date you purchased it. This is a pretty generous time frame compared to other online retailers. For example, Shein requires returns to be made within 35 days, and AliExpress only offers a 15-day window for returns. But one important thing to keep in mind when making Temu returns is that you’ll need to return products within 14 days of initiating the return request.
What Returns Does Temu Accept?
You may be wondering if you can return anything you buy from Temu. Most things you buy can be returned to Temu, with a few exceptions. You can return clothing if it hasn’t been washed, worn or damaged and the tags and any hygiene stickers are still attached.
Some free gift orders are not refundable. Also, keep an eye out for anything labeled explicitly as nonrefundable.
How To Make a Return
Follow these steps to initiate a return on Temu:
- Log in to your Temu account on the website or app. If you don’t have an account, open the order email you received from Temu and click on “Save Your Order.”
- Find the order containing the item or items you want to return, click on “Return/Refund” and select the items to return. Provide all required information about the return, then click “Next Step.”
- Choose your preferred return method (USPS or UPS) and select how you would like to receive your refund (Temu credit or original payment method), then press “Submit.”
- Print your return label. You can find your label by clicking “All Orders” or “Returns.”
- Pack all items you’re returning into one package, attach the label to the outside and bring it to your local USPS or UPS location.
When Will You Receive Your Refund?
While initiating your return on the Temu site or app, you can choose how you’d like to receive your refund. You have two options: Temu credit or a refund to your original payment method.
Original Payment Method
If you choose to receive a refund to your original payment account, the timing of the refund will depend on your financial institution. Although Temu refunds your original payment method within minutes, it could take days or even weeks for the refund to hit your account.
If you paid using PayPal, Klarna or Afterpay, you can expect to receive your refund in five to seven business days. Credit or debit card and Cash App refunds can take up to 14 business days. If you used a prepaid card to pay for your purchase, the refund could take up to 30 business days.
Temu Store Credit
If you choose to receive store credit, you’ll receive the refund immediately after Temu completes the product inspection and approves the refund. Once you choose to receive store credit and the refund is processed, you can’t change the decision. Store credit can’t be redeemed for cash and is only usable at Temu. Temu credits never expire.
Advanced Credit
Regardless of how you choose to receive your refund, Temu usually only issues the refund once it receives and inspects the returned product. In some cases, based on your shopping history, Temu may issue advanced credit after you drop the product off at the shipping location. If you receive advanced credit, you’re still responsible for making sure that the item arrives on time and in good condition. If Temu doesn’t receive the returned item, the company can reverse the credit by charging your original payment method.
What If You Never Received the Product?
If you need to request a refund because you never received the item you ordered, you’ll initiate the return the same way you would for all other product returns. After clicking “Return/other help,” select the reason you’re requesting a refund. You may need to speak to a customer service representative to complete the request. Temu will use the shipper’s tracking information to determine whether the item was delivered and whether to issue a refund.

The only time Temu charges a fee for a return is if you send back items from one order separately.The first return for each order is always free, but if you want to return more items from the same order at a later time, you’ll need to pay $7.99 for every additional shipping label.
