A tremendous achievement for Dell Seton Medical Center at the University of Texas as they ranked third out of 3,600 hospitals in the country. We are honored to raise funds through our foundation to help ensure the highest level of care for all here in Central Texas."The Lown Institute, a nonpartisan healthcare think tank, released the ranking July 18. The list ranks more than 3,600 U.S. hospitals based on more than 50 metrics across categories of equity, value of care and patient outcomes. Metrics fall under the following components: inclusivity, pay equity, community benefit, avoiding overuse, cost efficiency, clinical outcomes, patient satisfaction and patient safety. Hospitals with "A" grades on equity, value of care and patient outcomes earn a spot on the Lown Index Honor Roll. Overall, 54 hospitals achieved honor roll designation, making them the "most socially responsible" hospitals nationwide."

Shaping The Future for Dr Gray’s Hospital At Dr Gray's Hospital, the future is being shaped by a passionate and dedicated team who have been hard at work gathering and analysing insights, to inform the strategic direction for the next ten years. These insights were gathered from Dr Gray’s staff, partners, and the public between June 2022 and January 2023. These were gathered through 788 survey responses (hard copy and online) and 20 x 3-hour long workshops, which were well attended by 153 members of Dr Gray’s staff and partners. This input was made possible by the commitment and enthusiasm of local staff and people. All engagement feedback gathered has been analysed and the main themes identified. The feedback and themes were discussed at a workshop attended by local Dr Gray’s and NHS Grampian-wide clinical and non-clinical managers in January 2023. From this workshop a high-level vision was agreed for the future of Dr Gray’s. This vision was shared with, and approved by, the NHS Grampian Board in February 2023. Since then, collaboration has continued to pull together a high-level implementation plan. This plan will go to the Board for discussion in April 2023.During this time, we have also been working to pull together engagement feedback reports to share the feedback themes with staff, public and partners. These reports are now ready to share, and we hope that they will clarify what staff, partners, and the public would like from Dr Gray’s in the future. We will be sharing the strategic vision, along with the implementation plan, as it is developed and there is more detail to include. At present, our hope is everyone will get involved to help ensure the details of the implementation plan are coherent and work together to get behind and support the implementation of the plan. The team are excited to move forward with the strategic planning and are enthusiastic about the positive impact it will have on the hospital, staff, partners and the community.Health and Social Care Moray Chief Officer, Simon Bokor-Ingram said: “We are humbled by the enthusiasm of all those who took part in the engagement process, and we look forward to working together to agree the details of plans and put them into action.”Further information and links to the engagement reports are available here: https://lnkd.in/due7kep6

The best hospital in each state, per NewsweekNewsweekhas released the top 600 U.S. hospitals ranked by state, sorted by a score that factors recommendations, patient experience, quality and patient-reported outcome measures. Newsweekcalculated scores for each hospital by weighing recommendations from peers (in-state: 32.5%; out-of-state: 7.5%); patient experience (17.5%) based on publicly available data; hospital quality metrics (40%) per CMS and the The Joint Commission; and patient-reported outcome measures implementation (2.5%). Newsweekpartnered with Statista to conduct a national online survey for the rankings, in which tens of thousands of healthcare professionals were asked to recommend the leading hospitals from their respective state. (Recommendations for their own employer were not allowed.) A score was assigned to each hospital based on the number of recommendations received, which ultimately accounts for 40% of the overall score. Organization by profit center, when hospitals compete on price or are for profit. The idea is that each service is a profit center, even if they are support services (they do not bill the patient directly but inter-bille to the main service).Service managers are incentivized to become cost leaders (through bonuses associated with theirprofit), which guarantees the competitiveness of hospital rates. The following is a list of the largest for-profit hospitals in the United States, ordered by number (400 or more) of beds.It is about approximating the quality of medical care and innovation through applied research, when hospitals compete to maximize their financial results.1. I can't say enough about how valuable this strategic guide by the Toward Accountable Care (TAC) Consortium and Initiative is for both value-based care (VBC) entities and hospice/palliative provider organizations both. It is a helpful starting place for both sides of the equation to understand each other and the value both bring to success.https://okt.to/ILWq8C
